THE EAST OF MARBELLA

The eastern side of Marbella is thanks to its beautiful beaches, partially protected dune area, green area, golf courses, spacious residential areas with wide avenues and slightly shorter distance to the airport quite popular with second home owners and holidaymakers.

Regarding real estate it can be said that East Marbella was the first region in terms of development projects. This means that the building style usually looks or feels some 'older'. Yet we see that a lot of newer and more modern projects today still resurface.

All areas have their own charm and character. If we make a brief summary from west to east, we come to following findings.

GUADALMINA

The attractiveness of this area consists of the fact that everything you need is at maximum 15 minutes walk away. Golf, beach, shops, bars and restaurants ... all within easy reach, but without the feeling that it is a massively built, crowded area.

The famous golf course "Real Club de Golf Guadalmina" provides the bulk of the vast green area in Guadalmina. This course is the second oldest golf course on the Costa del Sol. The beautiful lush fairway all the way down to the sea over 36 holes.

LOS MONTEROS

This urbanization is a few minutes drive from Marbella and here is the main hospital of the region. There are to be found both projects at the beach and in the mountains, including some villas of celebrities such as Antonio Banderas.

ELVIRIA EN EL ROSARIO

Here are the Santa Clara golf course, which is a real challenge for any golfer, as well as the world famous Nikki Beach beach club, a must for the beach club enthusiasts. The area around Elviria is quite exclusive and well located property not so easy to find.

LAS CHAPAS

Las Chapas is one of the most expensive areas east of Marbella. There is still a lot of greenery and the villas are usually located on large parcels of land to create a natural setting with lots of privacy. There are also some homes for sale in beautiful gated urbanization located on the mountain slopes with beautiful sea views.

CABOPINO

Cabopino you will find a picturesque harbor where both summer and winter is good.

It has some excellent restaurants and the beach that made here is right next to it is a protected area because of the wild sand dunes which can be found here.

CALAHONDA, RIVIERA DEL SOL EN MIRAFLORES

These are larger residential areas consisting of a wide variety of real estate projects, including apartments, semi-detached houses and villas. A large part of these cultivations have been limited to low-rise buildings (max. 3 levels), but please do note that you may encounter regularly higher, especially older concrete structures. Each of these residential areas is now almost a village in itself.

In and around Miraflores is a large community Belgians and Dutch. There is even a Belgian beach restaurant Chez Max.

LA CALA DE MIJAS

La Cala De Mijas is about 20 minutes drive from Malaga International Airport. La Cala is a former fishing village and therefore has a very beautiful and traditional appearance than the neighboring villages. This area covers a fairly large area that covers part of the mountain slopes and goes up to the golf courses at La Cala Resort and Mijas Golf.

The Mijas racecourse is one of only two operating racecourses in Andalucia and is just a few minutes drive. The commercial center of the village of La Cala has all major facilities such as a supermarket, several bars, restaurants and good quality shops.

Everything has an international flavor, but the core of La Cala remains very typically Spanish. That makes this location with a mix of cultures is very popular for the purchase of a home.

The properties here are more affordable than, say, in and around Marbella because the region does not have the pretension to want to be an exclusive zone. It is excellent for families, retirees and anyone who wants to buy a house under the sun for the first time.
